I heart tunics and trousers

What defines this look is the slim tunic silhouette and defining the waist (not a smock top in site)!  Cinching in the waist with a belt and wearing all one shade of colour but adding different textures and bold statement jewellery to break up the line of the body.

There is something about August that makes me want to look ahead at the Autumn/Winter fashion trends - even if I’m going to be shopping on the high-street.  You can look for yourself at Vogue.  The other trends that stand out for me are bold costume jewellery and long coloured, gloves, the ‘Folk’ look and ‘Tomato Red’ - not all at once mind you.   In fact, why change your whole wardrobe when sometimes just changing your accessories does the trick.

I heart red coats

I love red coats because they make you stand out from the crowd, especially in a sea of black and grey.  On dull overcast days, injecting some colour into your outfit can really lift your spirits.  Colour is such a powerful thing, especially when you learn which colours looks good on you.  There are so many different types of red, a ‘blue red’ looks fabulous with dark brown eyes.  Whereas a ‘tomato red’ suits my blue/green eyes.  I think its a question of not getting too bogged down with the science of it all.  I always look at a colour near my face - if it lights up your face and makes your eyes more vibrant you know its a good colour for you.
