About

Hi, my name is Kim Lapworth. This whole blog/website started when my sister Jane, and I, who are 6′ and 6′1′ respectively and have size 9 feet, would text each other when we bought a pair of shoes that we liked.  These ‘Shoe Alerts’ have gone backwards and forwards between us for a few years now.  There is also the “What am I gonna Wear” crisis’ which happen on a regular basis.  Last summer Jane had a boat-party to go to which was travelling down the Thames.  Jane who has two children under the age of five and a demanding job,  usually doesn’t find much time to go shopping.   This was when I got a call from my younger sister, Kerrie - a budding make-up artist and stylist - she said “we have to sort Jane out!”  Between Kerrie and I, we planned the shoes -flat gold sandals, outfit - a black maxi-dress, a little gold jewellery, a fake tan (golden glow -not orange), manicure, pedicure and make-up.   I have never felt as satisfield after seeing my sister look so lovely as she walked out the door for a night out.

I think it is from getting such a kick out of helping my sister that I wanted to extend this to other tall girls and women who also have to get their outfit together too.  A designer was once quoted - ’she always starts from the feet up’ and I think there is a lot of truth in this statement.  I think from a purely practical standpoint, it helps to see what shoe styles are out there available in size 8, 9 and above, in one localised place, and of course the clothes to go with them to create the whole look.  I think woman who don’t fit into the ‘norm’, be it petite, tall or larger can feel so side-lined - more like an afterthought.  My aim with this site is to spread a little feel-good-factor because I think all girls and women deserve that!
