I Love heart Ghost

My Love Affair with Ghost

My ‘Little black Ghost dress’ or should I say my ‘Long black Ghost dress’ is now a wardrobe staple.  Its simplicity itself, but I know it won’t ever date.  It’s exactly the right length for me being six feet tall and it is cut to make you look willowy and slender even if you aren’t. Worn with a slip underneath, which stops it clinging, it is very flattering and will stretch even if you put on a few pounds.  Ghost’s signature fabric, ‘the Rolls Royce of viscose’, as described by its founder Tanya Sarne, has gone through a rigorous process which gives it a silky appearance with a natural elasticity to mould to your shape.  A fabric that breathes, you can move in and feel comfortable. It allows you to put a dress in a washing machine and then not even need an ironing and great for taking on holiday with you.

I am in love with Ghost and have an addiction - yes I’ll stand up at a meeting - I am Kim Lapworth and I have an addiction to Ghost.  In a short space of time I’ve acquired seventeen pieces, most of them dresses.  I have a long hot pink summer dress.  A beautiful air-force blue mid-length dress. The wide-leg palazzo pants are also incredibly long, I was amazed they fitted me perfectly.  My collection is growing.  Ghost clothes are about style rather than fashion.   Their appeal is timeless and they are clothes that women like to wear. Even supermodels; Naomi, Helen and Linda would do the fashion shows in return for the clothes.

I’ve been an admirer of Ghost, since my twenties and drooled over the vast collection in Liberty’s of London, off Regents Street but I never felt I could afford them at the time.  But now I have discovered I can buy pieces in my local dress agency at a fraction of the price, quite good in these difficult times.  I have bought the majority of these pieces from ‘Wardrobe’ a vintage and designer dress agency in my home town of Hastings on the East Sussex coast.  To spur me on I have a friend who works there and she is always egging me on,  I have no chance of kicking the habit, she is always tempting me with new pieces.  In amongst the ‘Ghost’, within this magical place are vintage pieces from Ossie Clarke, long willowy dresses in jewelled colours but I digress…..that’s another story.
