Clothes For Tall Women

Oh my god! I love these cute t-bar shoes from Long Tall Sally -£40. 

Why is it so much harder to find mid-heel shoes in larger sizes, this may be just my personal preference (I know there are more that share my view) but I don’t want a monumental heel - just a small one and variety is the spice of life and all that. If you choose to strut your funky stuff in 3 inch heels.  You go girl!  If you feel good then you shine its all about choice and what makes you feel confident - I just happen to feel good in a smaller heel.   Please can we have more styles of womens shoes and boots in larger sizes with a small heel.  Well I have it put out in the Universe lets see who responds.

Sometimes an extra inch makes all the difference to your trouser or skirt length and how you feel in them.  For instance if you try on an ‘extra long’ pair of trousers but they come up an inch (3 cm) short - check to see if there is a generous hem.  Tailored clothes tend to have a decent hem of a couple of inches (6cm).  If there is extra fabric to play with then the next step is buy some 1-2 inch wide ribbon in the same colour as the trousers, a metre will suffice unless you happen to go in for bell bottom flares.  When cutting the correct length for the circumference, don’t forget to add on a couple of inches for overlap on each leg.  Give your trousers a really small turn up, then attach the ribbon with a hemming stitch. 

Alternatively if you don’t do sewing, then take them to your local dry cleaners - if they offer an alterations service or dressmakers.  Please note, this won’t work on jeans because they only have a small, heavily stitched hem.
